Automaton, Scribe

This four inch high cast iron wind up toy depicts a scribe setting at a desk, pen in hand. A large winding key is set into it’s base. When wound up the scribe will write down the dialog of anyone within a 60 foot radius on a tiny roll of parchment that rolls out of his desk. When no one is speaking the scribe will look up from his desk at whomever spoke last, as if anticipation of what they say next. The scratch of it’s tiny pen is noticeable even in noisy conditions. Any one in hearing distance of the scribe feels uneasy.

The scribe can take notation for two hours before needing to be wound again. He never runs out of ink or paper.
